The Minister of Health, Mikheil Sarjveladze, met with representatives of the pharmaceutical sector. The parties discussed the changes that impose the obligation to present the documentation issued by the relevant regulator when importing medicines and ingredients needed for their manufacture into the country.
According to the Minister of Health, the priority of the agency is to control the proper quality of medicines and to protect the interests of consumers as much as possible.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Ministers of Health – Irine Tsakadze and Thea Giorgadze, as well as the head of the Strategic Development and Analytics Department, Lela Sulaberidze, and the head of the Department of Regulation of Medical and Pharmaceutical Activities, Kakhaber Shalikadze.
Mr. Irakli Margvelashvili, executive director of the Association of Pharmaceutical Companies Representatives in Georgia, attended the meeting.
